Beam News
As we inch closer to the end of the year, the stage is set for an enormous 2022 for Beam. One of the most important parts of the Beam ecosystem moving forwards is of course the Beam DAO. The aim of which is to further decentralise power and control over the Beam ecosystem, with a suite of confidential DeFi applications which join the DAOs ranks! An important part of this is to establish a framework for Beam Improvement Proposals and the voting on such.
The Beam DAO voting will include a wide range of decision making functions, from Beam Improvement Proposals, to treasury and Dapp management. The expected release for the Beam DAO Dapp itself is early 2022, with confidential DeFi applications to join the ranks shortly after.
The stage is being set for Beam to set the standard for confidential DeFi, and power privacy throughout crypto!
Beam DAO
The initial $BEAMX distribution phase aimed to get the governance token into the hands of Beamers. This has been achieved by allowing the staking of $BEAM without the need to worry about the staked assets being exposed to such things as impermanent loss, or liquidity backstops. A more or less risk free staking campaign to bootstrap distribution to the community. After the initial staking phase concludes, there will be more ways to earn $BEAMX with liquidity provision being one such way on the cards.
The Beam DAO Voting Proposal is live on the forum!
As mentioned in the last Beam Newsletter, the Beam DAO Voting Proposal has been posted to the forum, and with it the call to action to come with your feedback on how the voting and proposals shall be conducted.
The initial proposals main focus centres around that of Special Non Binding Proposals, so let’s break them down along with the other intended proposals and instances where voting plays a crucial role!
Special Non Binding Proposals: As the name suggests, these proposals are non binding and aim to gauge sentiment on various issues throughout the Beam ecosystem.
Special Binding Proposals: Contrary to the SNBPs mentioned above the Beam SBPs will be binding in nature. They will thus not be used to gauge sentiment, but rather to act on decisions made by the DAO and more forward with said decisions.
Regular On-chain Proposals: These proposals will be used to vote for on-chain parameters for the Beam DAO and applications falling under its umbrella.

6.2 comes to Testnet!
The 6.2 Desktop release is live on Testnet, making improvements to the UI and Dapp store. This includes the addition of transaction notifications when interacting with Dapps, giving information about the actions taken when paying or receiving funds, along with improved utilisation of real estate for the Dapp screens.
