Beam News

The latest Beam desktop wallet release has something the Beam team is massively proud of, and owes a huge gratitude to the community for its support of. What might that be you ask? How can you say "sovereign and private finances" in 18 different languages? BEAM! As above shows, this week is all about languages and the Beam wallet ability to speak, in tongues.

As it’s another great community effort and the wallets are ever evolving and being upgraded with expansion after expansion, it’s an ongoing effort to ensure that our team can stay engaged with all of our great and loyal community, across the world. Around the corner is the Eager Electron 5.2 release for mobile, and with it, the same set of language options as you currently find on desktop.

If you are keen to get involved, reach out and let us know!

We look forward to having more languages supported, and improving what is there!

Beam Accepted Here

This week in Beam Accepted Here, we bring to you: Usenet Now

Usenet Now
offers multi-threaded downloading of aggregated newsfeeds for your personal and business use, and has a solid architecture to enable the user to retrieve articles on a huge range of topics. Our very own Raskul learned of Bitcoin in 2010 when scrolling through usenet feeds on his RSS reader. UsenetNow accepts Beam!

Research and Development

With the release of 5.2 behind us, the next release 5.3 is well on the way to testing. There are some small nuances to getting swaps between Beam and Eth on the Atomic Swaps board. This will allow both ETH and ERC20 swaps to take place with Beam, expanding the ecosystem and increasing the ways in which to Beam.

Development on Fierce Fermion has commenced. This is the planned release to consolidate the work happening on BeamX with Beam mainnet, introducing the key DeFi elements to the Beam blockchain. The date for which is not set, but expected during Q1 of 2021.
