With much in the works for Beam, this week we will focus on what is in development, some updates on the next releases, and what to expect moving forward.
Let’s dive in!
The 6.2 Desktop release will be mostly a service release, making improvements to the UI and Dapp store. This will include the addition of transaction notifications when interacting with Dapps, giving information about the actions taken when paying or receiving funds, along with improved utilisation of real estate for the Dapp screens. The 6.2 release is expected in the next week or two.
This release will se improvements to the NFTs and marketplace. The main focus being establishing the token standard for NFTs on Beam, along with the storage for the data attached to NFTs, with IPFS being looked into to fit the needs.
This release is a huge one for Beam, bringing the Dapp store to your pocket! The release will enable the use of Beam Dapps from within the mobile wallet, including staking, the NFT marketplace, the faucet and many more DAPPs coming in the near future.
Improvements to the Beam Web Wallet are ongoing, with additions to the usability within the Beam ecosystem in the works. One of the first missions is to add Dapps to the web wallet to enable users to interact with Beam on a more holistic level.
The BeamX initial staking campaign has well and truly kicked off, with us now reaching the half way point! It has seen huge support and confidence from the community, with the numbers continuing to rise since the contracts went live!
