A busy week for Beam, with us pushing into the next with a bang! The Beam community call was hosted earlier this evening, with many joining to discuss the latest advancements and what is on the horizon for Beam.
Let us dive in!
Community Call
It was all go from the get go, with a great turn out from the community, and Romanov turning up the heat with some banging insights on where we are at!
A big shout out to ⟁Beamster⟁ for the live thread on the happenings during the community call, keeping those that couldn’t make it in the loop. Let’s take a look at what was covered!

IPFS
The InterPlanetary File System started in 2014, with the Alpha launching in 2015. It is a means for distributed file storage, and as such, is a great solution for the like of NFTs. IPFS will be integrated into the Beam Desktop wallet,
with other integrations possible in the future.
D²App Store
The D²App store is already on Beam testnet, allowing anyone to become a Dapp publisher, whilst keeping their privacy and remaining anonymous. This will also utilise IPFS to avoid spamming of the Beam chain.

Decentralized Exchange
Bridges
Oracles
Metamask Integration
This will allow users to interact with Beam and Beam Dapps from the Metamask wallet
This will increase awareness and user onboarding to the Beam ecosystem
EVM side-chain
In addition to the Metamask integration, Beam is working on a sidechain for EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) compatibility
Allow for easy onboarding of Ethereum developers
Utilise the EVM and EVM tooling in the Beam ecosystem

Onchain Git repositories utilising both Beam and IPFS
Web3 native development platform to allow for contribution, collaboration, governance, and funding
Provide developers with the privacy they need to make contributions while reducing risk and factors associated with open source contributions
