A big week with much on the cards for Beam. The Hardfork is fast approaching, the DAPP NET is set for release, and the confidential DeFi ecosystem is gearing up to make waves in the crypto sphere!
Let’s dive in!
DAPP NET
The DAPP NET is set for release soon, with it likely coming out tomorrow or in the following days. This presents a wicked opportunity for Beamers to be at the forefront of Beam DAPP testing. This will be ever more relevant as we ramp up the suite of confidential DeFi Dapps on offer, the first of which will be crucial to Beam moving forward! The BeamX DAO!
The BeamX DAO will be the be all and end all for onchain governance of the Beam ecosystem. The perfect place for improvements and proposals to be voted on by the Beam community. This will of course come with privacy at its backbone, and present a huge step forward for the space. We aim to promote this to the wider crypto community, with the end goal being to offer a similar privacy focused governance to other crucial crypto protocols!
For all this to become a reality, the key ingredient is you, the avid Beamer! We are excited to have you all in the instrumental phase of Dapp testing, to improve all offerings prior to mainnet launch.
The DAPP NET will allow for easy deployment, development, and testing. The key differences to the regular testnet is the focus on DAPP testing, with faster block times and automated proof of work.
Hardfork
With the hard fork fast approaching and the 1,820,000 block height in our sights, it is high time to upgrade your desktop wallets. The 7.0 releases for mobile wallets are expected soon and are now just waiting on app store approvals, so stay tuned for their release.

This release is required to access and send funds after block 1,820,000. It also packs a punch, and brings huge upgrades to the network!
For Beam Miners there is additional alterations with the coming fork. You can bring yourselves up to date with the linked documentation.

If you haven’t checked out the forum yet, dive on over. This will be the place to be for Beam ecosystem discussions moving forward. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to shoot them over.
NFT V 2:
Coming this week to the forum will be information on the NFT Marketplace V2, along with a proposal on what to include and improvements to be made in the V 3 release. As the last year has shown, NFTs along with other non financial applications are incredibly relevant and equally popular in crypto. Beam aims to be the go to chain for private NFTs. Stay tuned for more info on the V2 release.
