A big week for Beam with the launch of the hotly anticipated Beam Anonymous Name Service - BANS. A lot more to cover this week so let us dive in!

With the latest release here, and the Hard Fork coming early next month, it is time to look ahead to 7.2! The next major release coming to Beam brings with it some amazing added features. One such feature is that of the Asset Swaps. This will allow users to trade Assets and Beam in a trustless fashion. Users will be able to set bids and asks to trade between $BEAM and Confidential Assets. The initial Asset Swap launch will have a similar UI to that of the Beam Atomic Swaps.

The BANS - Beam Anonymous Name Service - DApp is live!

BANS launched with a bang last Tuesday with the community taking to the Beam wallet and securing their domains! We had a BANS launch party on the Twitter spaces which was a great time to talk all things BANS.

Hard Fork!

Reminder that the Beam blockchain will has a Hard Fork coming up at:

Block 1,920,000

This equates to around the start of September. The latest fork compatible release is here for desktop, so if you haven’t already, update your wallets to get ready for the upgrade!

Stay tuned for the mobile wallet releases!

The Hard Fork will bring with it:

• A change to the confidential asset creation price, with the new cost being 10 BEAM

• Improved DApp support in the wallets for the BANS application

• Addition of Shader capabilities to verify fork heights (to support fork-dependent features)

Beam Space

The last Beam Space we took a look into the need for privacy and the differences between Proof of Work and Proof of Stake when it comes to censorship resistance. A great space for those watching the goings on in the Ethereum ecosystem and the upcoming merge and shift to POS.
