Exciting times for Beam with the Hard Fork behind us, and a whole lot more for financial privacy on the way! Let us take a look today at one of the upcoming features gearing up for DAPP Net release and to be closely followed on mainnet.
The Asset Swap!

Beam Asset Swap

The upcoming Beam Wallet 7.2 release will come packed with a punch! The next iteration of the Beam wallet we have come to know and love will come with in-wallet Asset Swap functionality. This will enable Beamers to trade Beam for Confidential Assets (CA), and CAs for CAs.

To celebrate the DAPP Net launch expected in the coming days, and crush and bugs as we gear up for mainnet launch, we will be having a Beam Asset Swap Space this coming Sunday. This will be a great chance to try out the Asset Swaps, have a bit of fun, and take home some Beam!

During the Space we will be giving away some Beam prizes to the most budding of Beamers. Those that test the Asset Swaps, are quick to pull the trigger, and provide some feedback as to the UI and UX.

Read on for all you need to know for the Beam Asset Swap Space!

To Prepare for the Beam Asset Swap Space:

1. Download Beam Dappnet Wallet from https://beam.mw/downloads/dappnet

2. Initialize the wallet and make sure it is synchronised with the blockchain

3. Get some DAPP Net BEAM from the Faucet

   a. Click on the DApp Store menu in the toolbar on the left 
   b. Launch the Faucet application
   

   

   
   c. Get some BEAM coins from the faucet
   

   

4. Open the Asset Swaps screen from the menu on the left

On this screen you can create new swap offers, by clicking on the ‘Create offer’ button in the top left corner,  and also accept offers that appear in the list by clicking on the ‘accept offer’ button to the right of the offer.

How to earn BEAM

During the Beam Asset Swap Space you will be able to earn some Beam. You just need to be tuned in and have a quick trigger finger. During the Space there will be a number of offers up for grabs, all you need to do is swap your DAPP Net $BEAM for $STAR.

This special new asset, $STAR, will be created on the DAPP Net. During the space, at random intervals, a swap offer will appear offering to swap some BEAM for STAR. If you are quick enough to catch this offer, you will collect the STARs. 

Once the Space is over, you will be able to exchange your STARs for real BEAM by contacting @bigromanov on Telegram. Make sure that in order to collect real BEAM you will also need to have a running and synchronized Beam Mainnet Wallet.

It should be a lot of fun, and a great chance to check out and test the Beam Asset Swap. Be sure to join and bring your friends too!

Beam Space

The last Beam Space we were joined by Raskul, the in house Beam mining expert, and DirtyRusski, the best of of Beam supporters and an avid miner, to discuss all things Proof of Work.

The space discuss the upcoming ETH merge, the effect this will have on miners, and where they will find refuge.
