Beam News!
Hey Beamers! We hope you are doing well and staying safe. The last week was full of exciting developments in the world of Beam, so let’s us dive in and check them out!
Latest Updates!
Last week the Beam community received some updates from the Beam CTO, Alex Romanov.
Epoch 18 kicked off with two huge votes! Both votes are for allocations of BEAMX to and aimed to bootstrap liquidity in the Beam ecosystem, namely for the Beam Dex and Nephrite confidential stablecoin. These allocations will be distributed as part of liquidity mining programs in both applications. The Beam Dex will have a Liquidity Accumulation Phase, which will commence following community testing. During this phase, Beam holders can deposit BEAM and BEAMX coins for Early Bird LP Tokens. These can be locked for up to 12 months with different BeamX reward ratios. After the phase is complete, the resulting liquidity will be moved into BEAM/BEAMX (1% fee tier) liquidity pool, and trading will begin.
The Nephrite allocation will be used in the stability pool, to help bootstrap liquidity, and reward Beamers for their early participation in the protocol. The team is collecting feedback and aiming to add a FAQ section to the Dapp. Let them know your thoughts and suggest any improvements you see fit.
Both votes are huge for the Beam ecosystem, so if you have your BEAMX staked in the voting Dapp, and haven’t yet voted, do so now! Voting will conclude next week, and with the quorum having been met, both look set to pass.
Beam Crew!
Beam now has a dedicated Crew3 board in order to help with community engagement, increase awareness of Beam in the crypto space, and share the need for privacy to all. A shoutout to Maxnflaxl who is not only crushing it in the community, but leading the efforts on the Beam Crew3 initiative!
Beam + ETC!
The Beam team has been exploring potential integrations and collaborations with Ethereum Classic (ETC), one such being that of a Beam ←→ ETC bridge. To help gauge interest from the ETC side, and to cover funding costs, an ETC grant has been applied for. You can see the full application here!
Beam Space
The last Beam Space was a blast, with many a topic covered, the highlights of which were in Alex’s updates thread. Unfortunately we (Gus) did not hit the record button, and thus the space is only playable in the minds of those that joined live. We apologise, and will make sure the future spaces are recorded for those that cannot join at the scheduled Space time.
All other spaces can still be listened to on Youtube!
Join the next Beam Space:

See you there!
