An exciting week for Beam! The latest round of voting has come to a conclusion with the end of epoch 18, and we're excited to share the results, and some further development updates with you. Let's dive in!
Epoch 18 : Results
The voting for Epoch 18 has closed, and we are happy to report that both votes have passed! The vote for the Beam DEX and Nephrite BeamX allocations both met the quorum, with the vast majority voting in favour of the two allocations. The two protocols aim to use the BeamX to bootstrap liquidity in their Dapps. It was a huge turn out for voting, with over 2 million BeamX currently staked, and each vote receiving 1.6+ Million votes for.

These two votes mark an important step forward for Beam as many a product gears up for launch in the coming days and weeks.
Accumulation Phase
A lot of discussion has taken place in the Beam community regarding the launch strategy for the Beam DEX, including how to price BeamX, and how best to incentivise liquidity at launch. The aim was to launch the accumulation phase tomorrow, however, after some review and valuable feedback from the community the accumulation phase will kick off within the next week. This will allow time for fixes, further testing, and all that is needed for a successful launch!
Nephrite
As mentioned the Nephrite BeamX proposal passed the DAO voting stage, the team is heads down preparing for launch, with the latest Dappnet release fixing some previously discovered bugs.
Show some love, and be sure to dive in to the Dappstore and give it some testing prior to their mainnet launch!
Research and Development
Desktop Wallet
We're making some important updates to the desktop wallet, including some small UI tweaks and adding hardware support and the V1 of the Beam Messenger. These will soon be released to Dappnet, with mainnet following soon after!
Web Wallet
The updated Web Wallet is nearly ready! We're currently stretching the UI to make it look and feel even better. We can't wait to share it with you very soon. We will be talking all things Web Wallet and Adoption in this weeks space so be sure to join. Details below.
Mobile Wallet
The next release for Mobile Wallet is currently in the works, expect an update on this in the coming weeks.

Beam Africa will have their Space at the same time this week due to a shift for some in daylight saving hours. For the future we will look to have them at different hours, so both can be joined.
